WARMING & COOLING SITES
Sites are generally activated for Excessive Weather Conditions (cold or hot) as issued by the National Weather Service.

WARMING & COOLING SITE ACTIVATION
Warming Centers – agree to open their doors for individuals to seek shelter from excessive cold conditions. Excessive cold indicators are: wind chill expected to be -15 degrees or less or the stagnant air temperature is 15 degrees or less.
Cooling Centers – offer the general public air-conditioned relief and cool water during the hottest part of the day. Sites will be activated if an Excessive Heat Advisory or Warning is issued by the National Weather Service
- Heat Advisory – Heat Index is expected to reach 105º F or if the air temperature reaches at least 100º F.
- Heat Warning – Heat Index is expected to reach at least 110º F for 2 consecutive days with a minimum Heat Index no lower than 75º F at night, or if Heat Advisory is expected to last 4 or more days.
