Residential Sharps Collection Program

We are excited to announce a new program to help residents of St. Clair County dispose of medical sharps safely.

Every year, SCCHD receives numerous inquiries from residents on how and where to properly discard the medical sharps that they use in their homes for their own medical care and treatment. Historically, when SCCHD staff would receive these calls, we would educate the resident on how to properly collect, store and dispose of these sharps, but we were unable to offer proper sharps containers for use in the home, nor could we collect the containers for disposal through a permitted PIMW transporter. SCCHD is excited for the opportunity to provide this service to our residents.
